Can't get enough of the Rubix Cube? Now you can have a
speaker system in your home that's shaped like a giant glow-in-the-dark version of one. Just plug this 110cm-tall decorative puzzle into your iPod and watch the 27 light patterns sparkle to the beat. Or, if silence is your preferred modality, you can simply watch it glow. It comes out end of October. Not much info out yet on its specs, but at 5000 yen I'm guessing it's geared more towards math geeks than DJs.
Earlier this year, I went to a Rubix Cube competition at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. And I learned that little nerdy Asian kids in thick glasses can solve these things in a matter of seconds, even when one-handed or blind-folded. The secret? Algorithms like
these. Let me know if you find out what RURURURU and FUFUFUFU mean.

"Rear Up Rear Up..." "Front Up Front Up..." (face to be rotated clockwise while L' would be Left counterclockwise or something)
In hope that it's of any use, although i doubt it ^^
R means turn the "right" face 90 degrees clockwise. R' means turn the "right" face 90 degrees counter-clockwise. F = front, L = left, U = up, D = down, and B = back.
Glad you enjoyed the competition at the Exploratorium, but I'm not really sure any of the asian kids had very poor vision. The kid with the worst vision was probably Leyan Lo and he was wearing contact lenses.
