Sue-happy Japanese

I think Japan might be becoming more like America. Last week, a teenage girl sued a cop because she developed post-traumatic stress disorder after he stopped her rather aggressively about a stolen bicycle. Now Toshiba is considering a lawsuit against Sony for its exploding batteries from last month. This announcement came before Dell or Apple showed any signs of wanting to sue. Can you imagine? A sue-happy Japanese girl and company, all in one month? The usual Japanese attitude about this kind of thing is, "Shoganai." Which is a slightly more defeated way of saying, Shit happens.
