Helium-filled Norfolk Terriers are the new dachsund

On my last few visits to Tokyo, not much had changed. The streets of Shibuya were still packed with school girls in crazy outfits and old men were still lurking in the corners with hand mirrors to look under their skirts with. But the one thing that I noticed to be different was the sudden surge in the number of dachsunds plomping down the streets with their adorably stubby legs. Rumors of abusive rooftop dachsund breeders spread like wildfire, yet dog owners flocked to the Dachsund specialty shops to buy the latest in hotdog-esque fashions. In the midst of this dachsund mania, my miniature pinscher, black toy poodle, and 12-year old Sheltie felt totally uncool and not with it. So they went out and bought a helium-filled Norfolk Terrier--kind of like the one pictured above--and tried to start a new trend of real dogs walking ballooned dogs. The fad didn't exactly pick up the way they hoped it would, but at least they got the major online shops to carry them now. (Buy yours here.)
