Update: Mysterious death of an Imperial Guard

Some updates on the Imperial Guardsman who allegedly committed suicide last week on palace grounds. It happened between 10:30am and noon on September 28th. Just minutes before the incident, the Crown Prince was walking his daughter, Aiko, to her kindergarten, and our 19-year old tragic hero stood for his 90-minute shift with full attention and professionalism, making sure they made it safely there. Once his shift was over, he locked himself in the bathroom, took his gun out of its holster, and put a bullet through his skull. The toilet door was locked from the inside, which makes me think I might have been wrong about Dick Cheney's rifle and Colonel Mustard's bar of soap. Imperial Guard members are not only protectors of the Emperor's family, but are also masters of all Japanese arts. Their training includes lessons in tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, and poetry. And they got rid of those baggy white pant uniforms decades ago, so if you ask me, ladies, a non-suicidal Imperial Guard is a pretty good well-rounded catch. Who doesn't want a loyal protector who's in touch with his feminine side?
